PhD Studentship in the Department of Physics at Lund University, Sweden

Study Subject(s): Physics within the discipline epitaxial Growth and Characterization of III-V and III-N Crystalline Nanomaterials
Course Level: PhD
Scholarship Provider: Lund University
Scholarship can be taken at:  Sweden

Eligibility:

-A formal requirement for doctoral studies in physics is an advanced university degree within a related field, such as a Master’s degree in physics or nanotechnology or equivalent, or substantial advanced course work at the master level or comparable, including an independent research project.
-Furthermore, the acceptance is based on the estimated ability to accomplish your postgraduate studies.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: The project should lead to control over heterostructure formation and doping in different temperature growth regimes designed to favor epitaxial axial or radial growth. The project will be carried out partly in a clean room environment and will include characterization and processing of the structures, using for instance microscopy, electron beam lithography, metal evaporation, and contacting in order to evaluate the electro optical properties of the materials. The PhD will work in close cooperation with other research groups at the department and within the nanometerconsortium. The PhD studies contain a course part and a scientific project. Teaching on undergraduate level is typically also part of the job.
